Monkey Madness!

It's a strange mission to be sure but the Voidtreckers have been called to help a huge zoo tackle a problem. Every monkey enclosure has been broken open and the creatures have gotten out and into the city, where they are causing mayhem.

Team Two

Round up the monkeys! The aim is to do this without harming and luckily they have some capture devices, that can be thrown to spring straps around a creature. Bribing them is also encouraged. The city has prepared vans for the creatures to be lured or taken to. Careful though, these monkeys are cunning and mischievous and clever enough to steal the capture devices and throw them back at the Voidtreckers! Who is catching who?

This was harder to untie than he thought.

"Well, you know, in the right light.." He joked. It didn't look like he was hurt. They were wearing some very boring, beige, canvas outfits that according to some people were very 'Earth safari/ jungle' looking. He didn't quite understand it. He also wasn't the biggest fan of these shorts, but what were you going to do? For once, the only thing that was colored for their team was neckerchiefs, weird floppy hats, and wrist bands. So no, they really didn't look like the monkeys.

"Stop squirming! This isn't.. why is this so hard to get off?"

"Excuse me?!"

.. Yeah, Inigo really isn't helping over here, is he? All he's doing is getting more and more frantic at the combination of Prompto's jokes and the fact that he somehow can't seem to get out of this. Which is ridiculous. It's meant to capture dumb monkeys, how hard could it be for a human to get out of it? It should be no big deal at all!

Which means he's totally squirming and just making things harder as he tries to free himself, even as he says-- "I'm not squirming!"

He sniffs, and it's hard to tell if Inigo is just being dramatic or if this is the onset of a genuine tearfest.

"Come on, you have to get it off me! We can't go back like this! Everyone will laugh at me!" It's a small miracle to Inigo that Prompto is even helping him rather than just laughing at him. On the other hand, he caused this to begin with, so of course he ought to help!

Prompto was debating what to do here. It seemed the lasso was getting more tangle-y the more Inigo moved and the longer the other boy was in the lasso the more he squirmed. The plea that he needed to get it off so they didn't laugh at him had Prompto feeling bad for him.

"Hey, I'm not going to let anyone laugh at you! This wasn't your fault it's mine and.. okay, I'm just going to.." He climbed right up on purple haired boy and pinned him down as best he could- which mainly consisted of Prompto straddling his thighs and putting one hand on the center of his chest to hold him down. That left his other hand free to work on the lasso.

"If only I had a knife," he grumbled.

Before he can even quip anything in return about how those words aren't too reassuring while Inigo is still stuck like this, any and all words die in his throat. Because before Inigo even realises it, Prompto is suddenly right there. Right on top of him.

The squirming does stop at that, but it's mostly since Inigo feels like he's suddenly flatlining here. The other is straddling him and pushing him down while he's practically tied up, and he realises this is pretty much the hottest thing that has ever happened to him. His heart suddenly races so fast.

Which is weird. And terrible. They're in the middle of a monkey catching mission, for Naga's sake! And Prompto is his friend, so it's just.. it's just weird! But at the same time there's no way Inigo can stop his face from growing as red as a tomato as he's lying there.

"W.. What are you doing?!" He squeaks. Sure, it's obvious what Prompto is doing, but why does he have to do it in such a way that's making Inigo's little gay heart freak out!

Okay, so there was a chance he hadn't thought this all the way through. And by a chance, it's pretty much the whole truth of the matter.

He wanted to make Inigo hold still and stop freaking out but now he had a really cute boy blushing and looking up at him like they were about to get really naughty. He bites his bottom lip and finds himself staring for a moment. It was so wrong that he was noticing how turned on he was, wasn't it? Yes, probably. He cleared his throat and tried to make himself break eye contact. Please don't notice how red he's getting. It also would be best if neither of them noticed just where their bodies were touching.

He was almost successful in getting his mind on his task when he heard that cute squeak. "I- I'm trying to help.." He explained apologetically. "I thought that, maybe, uh.. the trap was getting more tangled the more you moved. I'll try to be quick okay?"

He hated that Inigo was uncomfortable and what if he really was mad or hated this or thought Prompto was some sleazeball for doing this?

It's easy to almost miss in the middle of how flustered he himself is, but the way Prompto's face turns just as red isn't entirely lost on him. Although with Inigo being the way he is, there's no way he assumes it's since Prompto is also getting flustered at having a cute boy beneath him like this - he just thinks that he's probably only embarrassing Prompto with his own embarrassment.

Which is just.. great. Lovely. Except not. Why is he someone always Inigo, king of making every single situation ever weird without intending to? Did he just screw up his friendship with Prompto in one fell swoop?

He tries his best to lie as still as possible, which is helped by the fact he's still roped up, but not helped by the fact he can just feel Prompto moving on top of him. Inigo closes his eyes, his face still incredibly red as he ignores how hard his heart is pounding.

"Please.. just be gentle.." If he had thought twice before saying that out loud, he might have realised better what it sounds like. But Inigo and thinking aren't often on the best terms.

They were two goofy boys staring and blushing at each other right up until Inigo said that.

Like someone taking a sewing needle to a balloon, the tension burst and Prompto started to laugh. His whole body shook as he cracked up and eventually, he fell over onto his side (well Inigo's side) clutching his belly. "In- Inigo.. oh my god.. haha! 'Just be gentle' haha!" Best thing he'd ever heard!

Okay. So maybe this may not be the worst situation of his life - he's gone through much, much worse, after all - but it sure is heading up real quickly to claim the top spot as most embarrassing. And now he isn't even being freed anymore since apparently Prompto is too busy cracking up!

"I-- Wa-- Why are you laughing?!"

He's starting to wiggle as he says it, like he's flustered enough to want to physically freak out about it, but it's kind of hard while he's stuck like this. So now he just looks like he's doing the worm instead.

"Stop, it's not funny!" At least he doesn't seem actually upset. Just flustered. And being a huge drama queen.

It took a few tries but eventually Prompto was able to sit up and quiet down. "Dude, you're too fun! Okay okay, here, let's.. " Snicker. No, he had to stop thinking about that remark or they'd never get Inigo out of his tangled mess.

It was a struggle but eventually, Prompto was able to get one side of it opened enough that Inigo could slip out of it. He got his arms caught in it for another couple minutes, but finally he flopped right back on the ground in an exaggerated exhaustion. "Okay, I vote the monkeys can just stay here and take over the world."

Dear, sweet freedom. Those couple of minutes feel like they last an eternity, and the moment Inigo is able to slip out of it, he immediately does so, stretching out his arms above his head. He never thought he'd be able to move those ever again! He never realised how nice it is to just be able to move, geez..

Although the whole struggle with the device took a lot of energy out of him as well, so he doesn't exactly get up and start running or anything. Instead Inigo just sits down on the ground next to where Prompto flopped down, starting to stretch his legs now by touching his toes. (He's pretty flexible, so he's able to do it easily, even as he turns his head to look at Prompto instead.)

"Surely some of the others caught them already.."

Or so he tells himself. Because he really doesn't want to run around and risk getting trapped again after this mess.

"Let's just stay here for a bit. And then later you can carry me back as an excuse for your terrible mishap." Is he serious about that? Is he joking? It's hard to tell with his kind of tone.

Prompto turns his head and watches as Inigo stretches. Hmm, he needed the guy to do that a few more times. It was impressive how far he could stretch too.

He sat up and laughed. "Yeah, let someone else do it. Hey would you like any help stretching out? You're pretty good at that!"

His eyes widened at the thought of having to carry Inigo. "Only if you want to be dragged instead of carried."

"Seriously? You won't even do that much for me?"

Inigo is trying really hard to make puppy eyes at Prompto over here, but it's not exactly his speciality. In fact, he's much better at making sad puppy eyes when he doesn't mean to. Right now he just looks kind of ridiculous as he tries.

It's followed up by a loud dramatic sigh as his expression turns back to normal.

"Fine, fine. Then at least help me stretch a little. I guess I'll be gracious and accept that as my repayment."

Prompto flushed at that reaction. "N- no! I mean, yes. I'll do it! I promise! I'm sorry.." Please stop looking at him like that. It might look ridiculous but it was so stinkin' cute he just couldn't handle it. Prompto was going to carry Inigo to the end of the earth if he kept that up! Someone have some mercy on the poor guy's back!

He sat down across from Inigo and offered his hands. This was how he did it with Noct that one time.. okay, so he didn't really know what he was doing. It just looked hot when Inigo was doing it. When Inigo took his hands, he did what he thought made sense and pulled!

That may just be the quickest Inigo has gotten anyone to give in to him.. Or maybe even the only time he's ever gotten anyone to give in to him period! He gives Prompto a slightly surprised look for it, even, since he genuinely didn't expect the other to promise regardless.

He's quickly distracted though by Prompto suddenly pulling like that though, causing Inigo to let out a half-choked noise as he winces. Okay, that's maybe too intense of a stretch there!

"Oh, wait-- not like that!" He quickly puts his hands back on top of the other's to keep him from stretching him like a piece of candy. "You have to be a bit more gentle! Here, you sit down, I'll demonstrate by helping you stretch first."

Prompto's cheeks flushed when he realized halfway through his motion that Inigo didn't put up nearly the resistance Gladio did- whoops!

"Sorry!" He obediently sat down and watched curiously as Inigo showed him how he was supposed to do this. It made way more sense now that he was thinking about it versus just doing what he was used to with a large, burly man. "The guy I usually help stretch is uh.. you know, way bigger than me. I should've known better than to do that with you." Pause. Panic. "I didn't mean you were small o- or like too small or anything like that! That's not.. crap, you're just a different body type- not that I'm like.. staring at your um.. wow, that's not what I meant either I just.. let me borrow that.." He took Inigo's hand and put it over his own mouth in a playful gesture, like he was making Inigo shut him up. He mumbled 'better' against Inigo's palm.

Inigo should be used to seeing this kind of panic. This very specific dumb rambly kind of panic, since it's a near-exact mirror of the same thing he himself does when he gets flustered. And yet it seems harder to recognize in another person, since he stares with a half-dumbfounded expression as Prompto just goes on and on.

(Wait, did he just talk about his--)

It's a good thing Prompto just moves straight on, and then suddenly Inigo's hand is on Prompto's face before he knows it. And while that earns a momentary confused expression at all, at least it melts very quickly into a fond smile.

Sure, Prompto is weird, but not a bad kind of weird. He's nice and funny. (Kind of handsome, too.)

He slightly laughs. "You sure you don't want to instead borrow a hand from some bigger guy?" It's mostly just a teasing dig at Prompto, but don't think there aren't layers underneath it of insecurity that Inigo always has at the knowledge he isn't some big muscly hunky guy.
